“Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” —― Ralph Waldo Emerson

“When we were children, we used to think that when we grew up we would no longer be vulnerable. But to grow up is to accept vulnerability, to be alive is to be vulnerable.” —Madeleine L’Engle

The Cure | 10:15 Saturday Night | Three Imaginary Boys, 1979

10:15 saturday night
And the tap drips under the strip light
And I’m sitting in the kitchen sink
And the tap drips,
drip drip drip drip drip drip drip drip

Waiting for the telephone to ring
And I’m wondering where she’s been
And I’m crying for yesterday
And the tap drips,
drip drip drip drip drip drip drip drip

It’s always the same

I need to do more art.

And editing.

And work on a new story that is currently sitting in pieces in my brain.

Finally replied to an employee at Hooters to say I wasn’t “Jen” and that they had the wrong number.  I’d been enjoying the messages and voicemails for about three months without them figuring it out.  ”Jen” doesn’t know her own number, clearly.

“It’s a strange thing, how you can love somebody, how you can be all eaten up inside with needing them—and they simply don’t need you. That’s all there is to it, and neither of you can do anything about it. And they’ll be the same way with someone else, and someone else will be the same way about you and it goes on and on—this desperate need—and only once in a rare million do the same two people need each other.” —Madeleine L’Engle
